It is located on high ground on the banks of the Rufiji River and offers a game experience up close and persoanal.
The camp is built with local materials, so that it feels like it belongs in the bush.
With the camps focus on the river and wildlife, the restaurant and bar are built to reflect this, with al fresco dining, private dinners along the river bank and sundowner drinks at the bar, overlooking the river.

ACCOMMODATION
Classic Tents
The tents are all pitched underneath thatched roofs with massive verandas giving views up and down the river. Each tent has an en suite bathroom, with solar heated water for showering. There are 11 individual classic individual tents well spaced along the river bank.
Suites
Rufiji has 3 suites, each with 2 large tents on a shared platform with private plunge pool. Each tent has it's own stylish bathroom. The suites are ideal for families or friends wanting some extra space and privacy or the extra touch for the special anniversary or honeymoon.

Rufiji River Camp's restaurant and bar are built with direct views to the river and wildlife.

BEST TIME TO GO
Selous Game Reserve is best visited between the months of June and February.
The camp is seasonal and closes at the end of March through to the 1st June.
The dry season is from June to end October November time and during this period the park dries up and the temperatures increase until the rains break.
The rain is heavy but short lived with wonderful clear skies following a downpour. The river fills up and birdlife is supplemented by migrant species.
